Tasting notes

Very pretty dark color ; delicate notes of red fruits (cherry and blackcurrant). The Petit Verdot was brought to perfect maturity, and thus fully express its aromas of rose petals. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied, smooth, with supple and mellow tannins.

Château Roquegrave and its vineyard are situated in the highest points of the Valeyrac commune. They admirably dominate the Girondin river.

This domain has been the property of the Joannon & Lleu families since 1965.

” Rock Grave is a quirky wink at Château Roquegrave. It is a mixture of emotion, experience and know-how without conventions … Since my arrival in 2016, as an independent winegrower, I have undertaken simple gestures both on the cultural and environmental modes. It is therefore natural that our vineyard certified HVE3 with the 2018 vintage.
So I plugged in my guitar and wrote a new Rock’n Roll partition for this Médoc.

VINES	30 hectares of vines situated on hills and plains both sandy-gravelly on a foundation of sandstone and clay-gravelly on gravel and stone subsoils. It is a truly fine mix of soil. In the past, the upper layer was removed to facilitate production. Château Roquegrave is named after this terroir.
