« Vinified and aged for eighteen months in concrete vats, the 2012 Simard (35% Cabernet Franc alongside Merlot) displays a fresh bouquet of violets, black fruits, brambles and spices. A freshness prolonged by a silky, supple and fine palate, with round tannins, further enhanced by an elegant note of plant in the finish. »

Château Simard belongs to the Vauthier family, settled in Saint-Emilion for three generations and owner of the legendary Château Ausone, Saint-Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé A.
A marvellous Saint-Emilion Grand Cru which finds its typicity in the blend of the two traditional grape varieties of Saint-Emilion.
The arrival in 2008 of Alain Vauthier and his daughter at the head of the vineyard has enabled this wine to obtain the classification of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.
